Colorado Springs, CO- Brookdale Community College sophomore centerfielder Nick Vitale received the 2014 NJCAA Baseball Marucci Elite Hitter award. The award is presented to the All-America nominee from each district with the highest batting average.
Colorado Springs, CO – The NJCAA national office announced the 2014 Baseball All-America teams. Brookdale Community College sophomore center fielder Nick Vitale and right fielder Jon Roszel were named to the All-American second team.
Red Bank, NJ- The Brookdale baseball season came to a close after two hard fought losses to Cumberland County College, 6-1 and Gloucester County College, 10-2, in the Region XIX tournament.
Blackwood, NJ- Brookdale Community College sophomore outfielders Jon Roszel and Nick Vitale received first team All-Region and All-GSAC honors. Freshman first baseman Tim Carney also made first team All-Region and All-GSAC.
Blackwood, NJ- Brookdale Community College head baseball coach Johnny Johnson was named Region XIX Coach of the Year. Johnson, who is in his 16th year in charge of the Jersey Blues program, has been named the Region XIX coach of the year six times, and the Garden State Athletic Conference coach of the year six times in his illustrious career at the helm.
Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale baseball team came out strong against the Spartans of Northampton Community College in today's doubleheader. In game one, the Blues blanked the Spartans, 11-0. In the bottom of the fourth, sophomore short stop Luis Hidalgo smashed a grand slam. He also ripped a 3-run homer in the fifth inning to end the game.
Cranford, NJ- The Brookdale baseball team suffered a defeat to the Owls of Union County College. The Blues were outscored 7 to 6. Sophomore outfielder Travis Rudic smashed a double, driving home 2 runs. Sophomore third baseman Ryan Kirman went 2-3 at the plate, scored 2 runs, walked twice and stole a base while sophomore outfielder Nick Vitale tallied a double, 2 RBI's and scored a run.
Toms River, NJ- The Brookdale baseball team fell to the Vikings of Ocean County College, 11-1 in eight innings, Freshman second baseman Brandon Ruetsch hit an RBI double, driving in the lone run for the Blues.
Freshman pitcher Nick Panduri was named Garden State Athletic Conference player of the week for pitching two gems for the Jersey Blues last week.
Red Bank, NJ- The Brookdale baseball team swept the Buccaneers of Atlantic Cape, 7-0 and 5-0. In game one, freshman Nick Panduri pitched for the win. He tallied 3 strikeouts and 4 hits from the mound. Freshman first baseman Tim Carney ripped 2 triples and drove in 3 RBI's. Sophomore outfielder Jon Roszel smacked a solo home run and knocked in an RBI while sophomore Travis Rudic sacrificed twice for 2 RBI's.
Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale baseball team swept the Fighting Owls of Harford Community College, 7-5 and 11-8. In game one, freshman pitcher Michael Pepio led from the mound for 6 innings with 3 strikeouts and 2 hits. Freshman first baseman Tim Carney and freshman second baseman Brandon Ruetsch each tallied 2 RBI's.
Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale baseball team rallied back to defeat the Roadrunners of Gloucester County College, 3-2. Sophomore pitcher Jake Winston earned the win after throwing 9 innings for 10 strikeouts and 9 hits. In the bottom of the ninth, freshman catcher Aaron Kane knocked in the winning run, scored by outfielder Kyle Golla, who went 2-3 at the plate.
Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale baseball team fell to the Dukes of Cumberland County College, 13-6 and 6-5. In game one, outfielder Nick Vitale smacked the first pitch of the game deep to left field for a triple. He also tallied an RBI. Sophomore Jon Roszel went 2-3 at the plate with a 3-run homer.
Edison, NJ- The Brookdale baseball team downed the Blue Colts of Middlesex County College, 10-1. Freshman pitcher Casey Cranmer led the Blues from the mound for 8 innings. Cranmer tallied 6 strikeouts and allowed 4 hits. Freshman first baseman Tim Carney contributed 2 doubles, 4 RBI's and 1 stolen base. Sophomore third baseman Ryan Kirman hit a double and had 2 RBI's.
Paramus, NJ- The Brookdale baseball team split with the Bulldogs of Bergen Community College. In game one, the Blues fell 5-6 in the bottom of the 7th inning. Sophomore outfielder Nick Vitale smashed 2 doubles and drove in 2 RBI's while first baseman Tim Carney hit 2 doubles and had 3 RBI's.
Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale baseball team defeated the Cougars of Camden County College, 8-0 and 12-1. In game one, sophomore outfielder Nick Vitale went 2-3 with a double and RBI. Sophomore outfielder Jon Roszel contributed a double. Sophomore Travis Rudic knocked in 2 runs with 2 doubles.
