2015 Brookdale Women's Soccer News
Lincroft, NJ- On the evening of May 24th, 2016, the 2015 NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer National Champions were honored in a ring ceremony presentation, as the Brookdale Jersey Blues reminisced about their historic feat.
Lincroft, NJ- Brookdale Community College's Ashley Cafarella (Old Bridge High School) was honored at Seton Hall University for being chosen as the recipient of the New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (NJAIAW), Woman of the Year Award.
Kansas City, Mo- Brookdale Community College freshman forward Heather Arbachesky was named Player of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for the 2015 season. Arbachesky recorded 19 goals and 13 assists for a total of 51 points in her first year as a Brookdale Jersey Blue.
Kansas City, MO- Brookdale Community College head women's soccer coach Katie Miller was named Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Miller was also named Regional Coach of the Year by the NSCAA for the third season in a row.
Colorado Springs, CO- Brookdale Community College sophomore center-midfielder Ashley Cafarella and freshman forward Heather Arbachesky were named to the 2015 NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer first All-America team. Sophomore goalkeeper Marti Stewart and sophomore forward Simone McEnough made the second All-America team.
Toms River, NJ- The Brookdale Community College Jersey Blues women's soccer team won its third consecutive national championship with a 1-0 win over Oxford College of Emory University in the final round of the NJCAA Division III women's soccer tournament, hosted by Ocean County College.
Toms River, NJ- The Brookdale women's soccer team blanked the Hornets of SUNY Broome Community College, 3-0 in the semi-finals of the national tournament. Sophomore center-midfielder Ashley Cafarella posted two goals for the Jersey Blues.
Toms River, NJ- The Brookdale women's soccer team defeated the Sharks of Suffolk County Community College in double overtime, 1-0. In the first 22 seconds of the period, sophomore center-midfielder Ashley Cafarella headed the ball to the feet of freshman forward Aubrey Jones who took on two Shark defenders and scored the game winning goal.
Lincroft, NJ- Thee #2 seeded Jersey Blues women's soccer team will match-up against the #7 seeded Sharks of Suffolk County Community College at 11:00am on November 12th at Ocean County College in game one of the NJCAA Division III National Tournament.
Berkeley Heights, NJ- The Jersey Blues women's soccer team captured the Region XIX title after taking down the Blue Colts of Middlesex County College, 11-0. Freshman forwards Heather Arbachesky and Aubrey Jones powered the Blues offense, netting four goals apiece. Jones also collected two assists while Arbacheksy added one.
Lincroft NJ- Brookdale Community College freshman forward Aubrey Jones earned GSAC player of the week honors for the week ending on October 25th. Jones sparked the Jersey Blues offense in wins over Essex County College and Harford Community College, both NJCAA Division I institutions.
Lincroft, NJ- Brookdale Community College freshman forward Heather Arbachesky was named Region XIX Player of the Year. Arbachesky was also named as a first team All-Region and All-GSAC honoree. Sophomore center-midfielder Ashley Cafarella, sophomore forward Simone McEnough and sophomore goalkeeper Marti Stewart join Arbachesky on the All-Region first team and All-GSAC first team.
Lincroft, NJ- The Jersey Blues women's soccer team rallied past the Fighting Owls of Harford Community College, 2-1. Freshman forward Aubrey Jones broke free from her defender and ripped the first goal of the game in the 27th minute of play. Sophomore forward Simone McEnough collected the assist.
Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale women's soccer team dominated play against the Wolverines of Essex County College, 7-0. Sophomore forward Simone McEnough connected with the back of the net three times, posting her second hat-trick of the season.
Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale women's soccer team blanked the Cougars of Camden County College, 5-0 in GSAC action. Freshman forward Heather Arbachesky led the Blues offense with two goals and one assist.
Pemberton, NJ- The Brookdale women's soccer team took down the Barons of Rowan College at Burlington County, 2-1. Sophomore center-midfielder Ashley Cafarella put the Blues on the board first, netting a goal after receiving a pass from freshman forward Aubrey Jones.
