Toms River, NJ- The Brookdale women's soccer team defeated the Sharks of Suffolk County Community College in double overtime, 1-0. In the first 22 seconds of the period, sophomore center-midfielder Ashley Cafarella headed the ball to the feet of freshman forward Aubrey Jones who took on two Shark defenders and scored the game winning goal.

Toms River, NJ- The Brookdale women's soccer team defeated the Sharks of Suffolk County Community College in double overtime, 1-0. In the first 22 seconds of the period, sophomore center-midfielder Ashley Cafarella headed the ball to the feet of freshman forward Aubrey Jones who took on two Shark defenders and scored the game winning goal.
Sophomore defender Meredith Parleman played a great defensive game, shutting down the Sharks leading goal scorer while sophomore goalkeeper Marti Stewart came up with two huge saves in the match.
With the win, the Jersey Blues advance to the semi-finals of the national tournament. Brookdale will face the Hornets of SUNY Broome Community College on Friday, November 13th at 1:30pm at Ocean County College.
