Ashley Cafarella Strikes Twice; Brookdale Advances To National Championship Game
Toms River, NJ- The Brookdale women's soccer team blanked the Hornets of SUNY Broome Community College, 3-0 in the semi-finals of the national tournament. Sophomore center-midfielder Ashley Cafarella posted two goals for the Jersey Blues.

Toms River, NJ- The Brookdale women's soccer team blanked the Hornets of SUNY Broome Community College, 3-0 in the semi-finals of the national tournament. Sophomore center-midfielder Ashley Cafarella posted two goals for the Jersey Blues.
Cafarella's first goal came off a corner kick from freshman midfielder Amanda Karabin. Freshman forward Heather Arbachesky ripped a beautiful left footed shot to the upper left corner of the net, scoring the second goal for Brookdale.
The Blues defense was led by freshman defender Michelle Montefinese who kept the defenders together for the ninety-minute match. Sophomore goalkeeper Marti Stewart came up with three big saves in the back to keep the Hornets from getting on the board.
Brookdale dominated play against SUNY Broome and with the win, will advance to the final round of the national tournament. The Jersey Blues will face the Eagles of Oxford College of Emory University on Sunday, November 15th at Ocean County College for a 1:30pm kick-off.
