2013 Brookdale Women's Soccer News
Colorado Springs, CO- Five Brookdale Community College student-athletes have earned academic honors, as announced by the NJCAA this afternoon. A three-tiered honor system, to earn the NJCAA Award for Superior Academic Achievement, a student athlete must have earned a GPA between 3.80 – 3.99 and the NJCAA Award for Exemplary Academic Achievement requires a GPA between 3.6 and 3.79 and the NJCAA Pinnacle award requires a 4.0. For all honors, at least 45 credit hours must have been completed.
Holmdel, NJ- Members of the Brookdale women’s soccer team and coaching staff teamed up with the Holmdel School District and Special Olympics New Jersey in holding the Second Annual Holmdel Special Olympics Sports Expo for special needs children at Cross Farm Park.
West Windsor, NJ- The Brookdale women's soccer team came out strong at the Mercer County Community College spring tournament. The team defeated Harcum College, Mercer and Gloucester County College.
Lincroft, NJ- The women's soccer team supported SAAC's Pink Zone - Play 4Kay Night by wearing pink. The team helped pass out t-shirts and distributed informative brochures on breast cancer awareness.
Congratulations to sophomore center- midfielders Chelsea James and Keara Homan on being named two of the best college soccer players on the field and in the classroom in 2013.
Lincroft, NJ- Brookdale Community College head women's soccer coach Katie Miller was named NSCAA South Region Coach of the Year. Miller, in just her third season as head coach, guided her 2013 women's soccer squad to a 17-1-1 record and the programs first NJCAA Division III National Championship.
Sophomore Center Midfileder Chelsea James and Sophomore Goalkeeper Erin Kinneman were named to the First Team All-American Team.
Lincroft, NJ-The women's soccer team was recognized at Thursday's meeting for winning the NJCAA Division III National Women's Soccer Championship.
Dryden, NY- En route to its first national title, Brookdale defeats Mohawk Valley 4-3.
Dryden, NY- Brookdale played to a 0-0 tie but was able to advance on penalty kicks 3-2 over Howard CC.
Dryden, NY- Brookdale Community College women’s soccer team defeated SUNY Delhi by a score of 7-0. The victory raised the team’s record to 16-1 overall.
Lincroft, NJ- Sophomore center-midfielder Chelsea James was named Region XIX Player of the Year. She was also named to the First All-Region Team. Sophomore forward Alexa Masino, freshman forward Caroline Duerr and sophomore defender Lauren Bowler were named to the First All-Region Team.
Brookdale women’s soccer team defeated Bergen Community College by a score of 10-0 on Sunday to win the Region XIX Tournament.
Lincroft, NJ- In the season opener for Brookdale they dominated visiting Mercer County CC by a final score of 6-0. Chelsea James led the offensive scoring attack with three goals.
