Lincroft, NJ- Sophomore point guard Che'Kasha Andrews has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Wilmington University and play for the Wildcats on an athletic scholarship.
Bethlehem, PA - The Brookdale women ended their 2018 season with a 78-67 loss to Rowan College of Gloucester County on Sunday afternoon and finish at the #2 spot in the NJCAA Region XIX rankings. Brookdale held an 11 point lead late in the 3rd quarter, but just couldn't hold on. The 1st and 4th quarters were tough on the Blues as they were outscored 23-12 in each by the Roadrunners.
Bethlehem, PA - The Jersey Blues women outscored the Northampton Community College Spartans in the semifinals of the NJCAA Region XIX Tournament, hosted by Northampton, with a final score of 71-59. Brookdale had a huge and much needed second quarter with a 22-4 run, pulling out of a trailing 15-10 Northampton lead in the first.
Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale women took their third win this season against the Sussex County College Skylanders Monday night in the NJCAA Region XIX Quarterfinals under the Collins Arena dome. Both teams struggled to put points on the board early in the game with a half-time Brookdale lead of 32-11, and then the Blues turned up the heat to finish the game with a 61-35 score.
Bethlehem, PA - The Jersey Blues battled and prevailed with a 75-57 win over the Northampton Community College Spartans Saturday afternoon. Down by 12 points at the half, Brookdale attacked with their disciplined full- court pressure in the second half and proving to be too much for the Spartans.
Lincroft, NJ - The Ocean County College Vikings struggled offensively to invade the paint, the keys, and the outside of the Jersey Blues territory Thursday night as Brookdale grabbed an easy win, 74-25. The Blues women who are currently 18-10, took the lead early with a 21-0 run in the 1st quarter score, and cruised for the victory from there.
Philadelphia, PA - The Jersey Blues women took control of the Colonials early in the game and then cruised to victory with a final score of 101-40 Tuesday night. Point guard, Che'Kasha Andrews had a big 26 point night, with five assists.
Lincroft, NJ - The Cumberland County College women didn't have the depth or strength to hold up the Jersey Blues on Saturday. Brookdale was strong on offense, worked the ball, and attacked on defense in their 95-37 win. Sophomore, Che'Kasha Andrews, led all scores with 24 points and had six steals.
Edison, NJ - The Blues women had a nice conference win, breezing by the Middlesex Blue Colts Thursday night. Brookdale is just ahead of Middlesex in the GSAC standings at the four slot with a record of 12-3, as the Blue Colts are in 5th place and 13-6.
Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale women had difficulty with the persistence and pressure that ninth Nationally ranked University of Connecticut at Avery Point displayed in their 86-49 loss on Sunday. The Pointers full-court press and five of their seven players scoring in double figures was a struggle for the Blues to handle.
Lincroft, NJ - The Jersey Blues were quick to put up points to start the game, and remained consistent against the 13-10 Skylanders Saturday afternoon. Brookdale displayed a good team effort as four players scored in double figures to beat Sussex County Community College, 85-47.
Lincroft, NJ - Sophomore point guard, Che'Kasha Andrews, had quite a night as she hit the floor and was on fire, gunning 12 three-points, and scoring 50 points in Brookdale's 91-58 victory over the Vikings. The Jersey Blues were up by 12 points at the half, then exhausted the lone five Vikings in the second, having no bench for substitutes.
Lincroft, NJ - The Jersey Blues women had difficulty producing on offense and defending outside shots against the Roadrunners in a tough key Garden State Athletic Conference loss Tuesday night. The Roadrunners Sophomore guard, Alyvia Essex, hit for 20 of her 29 points in the first half, pushing RCGC to a 44-22 half time lead.
Lincroft, NJ - At the 9:32 minute mark into the game, Freshman forward, Brianna Bowen, got the ball rolling with a half court steal and made lay-up, scoring 11 of her 17 total points in just the 1st quarter. Brookdale quickly jumped ahead of Passaic County College and stayed ahead, never to fall below a 14 point lead against the Panthers.
Lincroft, NJ - The Jersey Blues women had plenty of opportunities to stay on top of the game against the Division Two Owls, but they were unable to take advantage, create a flow, and covert on their end. Brookdale had three players in double digits and had a strong 2nd and 4th quarter in the 80-55 loss.
Lincroft, NJ - Sophomore guard, Che'Kasha Andrews, was on fire hitting for 40 points for the win against the Camden County College Cougars, 69-57. Andrews turned up the heat early in the 2nd quarter, then dropped a three-pointer to hit for her 1,000th point at the 4:34 mark. Last Year, Che'Kasha was the Region XIX Player of the Year, 1st Team All-Conference, and 1st Team All-American.
