Brookdale Cross Country Step Up In NJIT's Highlander Invitational
Newark, NJ - The Brookdale men`s and women`s cross country teams took another step in climbing up the mountain at Saturday`s Highlander Invitational hosted by NJIT at Branch Brook Park, Newark N.J. The meet was comprised of Division I. II, and III schools.
Newark, NJ - The Brookdale men`s and women`s cross country teams took another step in climbing up the mountain, hitting more personal best's at Saturday`s Highlander Invitational, hosted by NJIT at Branch Brook Park. The meet was comprised of Division I, II, and III schools.
In the women`s 5K race, freshman Kristen Daly ran a season best with a time of 26:16, placing 184th overall. The men`s team had a very nice showing as they placed 14th out of 36 teams, second among all junior college teams, and placing ahead of many Division II and III four-year programs.
Freshman Theodore Purdon was the first runner across the line for the Blues, placing 32nd in a time of 27:07. Purdon was followed by freshman, Joshua Seba, in 87th place in a personal best of 29:32. Sophomore William Broadhurst placed 98th in a season best of 29:56. Freshman Connor Scott, ran a personal best of 30:14 placing 109th. Classmate, Michael Puzo, placed 129th in a personal best of 31:04 and sophomore, Maksim Popov, placed 142nd in a personal best of 31:37. Freshman Joshua Beer placed 149th in a personal best as well, with a time of 31:55. Rounding out the scoring was freshmen, Axel Linde, who also ran a personal best of 39:17, placing 203rd.
The next meet for the Jersey Blues will be on Saturday, October 9th at White Clay Creek State Park, Newark, DE, hosted by the University of Delaware.
