Strong Individual Records For Cross Country At Roadrunner Invitational
Sewell, NJ - The men`s and women`s cross country teams had some outstanding performances at Saturday`s Road Runner Invitational hosted by Rowan College of South Jersey-Gloucester campus.
Sewell, NJ - The men`s and women`s cross country teams had some outstanding performances at Saturday`s Road Runner Invitational hosted by Rowan College of South Jersey - Gloucester.
In the women`s 5K race, freshman, Lindsey Field, won her first cross country invitational of her career and set a new course record with a time of 21:46. Field's individual win was a first for women's cross country in at least 10 years.
The men`s 5K race was led by freshman, Theodore Purdon, who like Field, won his first cross country invitational of his career and also set a new course record with a time of 16:43. Purdon helped lead the men`s team to a 2nd place finish. Freshman Joshua Seba placed 7th in a personal record with a time of 18:26. Seba was followed by freshman, Connor Scott, who placed 11th with a time of 18:48. Next across the line was sophomore, William Broadhurst, who placed 14th in a time of 19:05. Freshman, Joshua Beer, finished across the line next, placing 20th in a time of 20:45. Rounding out the scoring were a pair of freshman, Brendan Golding, who placed 23rd in a personal best of 23:12, and freshman, Axel Linde, was 24th with a time of 23:24.
The next meet for both the men and the women will be Saturday, September 25th the Osprey Invitational hosted by Stockton University.
