Men's Cross Country Walks For The Cause

Red Bank, NJ- The Brookdale men's cross country team participated in the annual Red Bank Crop Walk to fight worldwide hunger. The event, which has grown tremendously over the last four decades, raises funds to support over 15 hunger-fighting programs in Monmouth County.

Each student-athlete participated in the "Lug-A-Jug" brigade, which meant walking five miles carrying one gallon of water. Carrying the additional eight pounds symbolized solidarity with the millions of people around the world who travel great distances to get the basic necessities to survive. In addition to walking, the teams also collected canned goods and donated them to local food pantries.
