Women's Cross Country Captures 10th Place At Nationals
Westfield, MA- On Saturday, November 7th the Brookdale Jersey Blues concluded their cross country season with the NJCAA XC Nationals in Westfield, Massachusetts. Almost 300 student-athletes from 13 different states competed in the races. Holyoke Community College played host to the event with the meet taking place at Stanley Park.

For the women in the 5K race, 130 runners competed, with the Jersey Blues placing 10th overall. Freshman Hannah Fite placed 40th with a time of (21:27.40) followed by sophomore Sarah Dzurina in 42nd with a time of (21:29.90). Sophomore Kaleigh Jordan placed 48th with a time of (21:41.00) while freshman Tierra Hackley placed 50th with a time of (21:44.00). Sophomore Ana Ventura rounded out the team with a time of (25:10.00) for 107th place.
In the 5-mile race for the men, sophomore Robert Trigg ran a time of (29:32.90) placing 29th while freshman Daniel Caputo placed 43rd with a time of (30:12.10).

Hannah Catherine Fite (FR, Middletown South) placed 40th with a time of 21:27.40, followed by Sarah Dzurina (SO, Matawan) in 42nd with a time of 21:29.90. Kaleigh Jordan (SO, Manasquan) placed 48th with a time of 21:41.00 while Tierra Hackley (FR, Raritan) placed 50th with a time of 21:44.00. Ana Ventura (SO, Freehold Township) rounded out the team with a time of 25:10.00 for 107th place. Meseret Hart of Northampton Community College won the individual title with a time of 18:43.00, with team honors going to Suffolk Community College.
In the 5 Mile race for the men, Robert Trigg (SO, Keyport) ran a time of 29:32.90, placing 29th while Daniel Caputo (FR, Middletown North) placed 43rd with a time of 30:12.10. Zakaria Djouma of Mohawk Valley Community College won the men's title with a time of 26:15.10, while the National title went to Harper College.
