Jones And Meberg Dash To Finish Line At The NJIT Highlander

Newark, NJ - This past weekend, the Brookdale women's cross country team participated in the NJIT Highlander Invitational at Branch Brook Park in Newark, NJ.

In the 5k race, freshman, Georgia Jones, ran a 20:33 which was her fastest personal record, the fastest time in all junior colleges, and was also the fastest women's time at Brookdale in the last 15 years. Jones was followed by sophomore team captain, Brooke Meberg, who had the 2nd best time in all of the junior college women at 21:39. It was Meberg's season best record, and just a few seconds shy of her personal best.

The women Jersey Blues are off this weekend, but will be back at Branch Brook Park for the Region 19 championship on Sunday, October 27th, beginning at 10:00am. Both Jones and Meberg should be amongst the top finishers.
