Brookdale Sweeps The Ocean Vikings In First Round Of Regions

Lincroft, NJ - In the first round of the Region 19 playoffs, the #4 ranked Brookdale women's volleyball team swept the #5 Ocean County College Vikings, 25-21, 25-11, 25-22. This was the third game between the Jersey Blues and Vikings. Ocean won the first match in mid-September, 3-1, then Brookdale responded with a 3-1 victory in early October.

Freshman outside hittter, Marina Millett, contributed 17 of the 38 total kills for Brookdale, while tallying 30 digs and three aces. Adding to the kills stat was freshman middle hitter, Sophia Peluso, with eight, and freshman outside hitter, Rebecca Valentin, with six kills, 10 digs, and two aces. 

Brookdale will be on the road next to challenge the #1 seed, Harrisburg Area Community College, in the NJCAA Region 19/ North Atlantic A District Championship on Saturday, October 29th, at 1:00pm.
