Women's Volleyball Celebrates Sophomores With Win Over Bergen CC In Five

Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale women's volleyball team downed the Bulldogs of Bergen Community College, 3-2 (22-25, 26-24, 27-25, 14-25, 15-11).
During the celebration of the sophomore class, the Blues pulled out an exciting win with a convincing fifth set. Sophomore outside hitter Katie O'Neill dominated the floor with aces, tallying a total of nine. O'Neill also contributed 12 kills, 26 digs and one block. Sophomore right side hitter Emily Schulte posted 14 kills, two aces and one block as sophomore libero Samarie Hernandez scooped a match-high 51 digs. Sophomore setter Ciarah Minnig dished 27 assists while sophomore middle hitter Melanie Hobbis connected for seven blocks and four kills. Freshman middle hitter Carolyn Hazard added 10 kills and three blocks.
With the win, the team improves to 8-6 and will next host the Vikings of Ocean County College on Thursday, October 17th at 7pm.
