Jersey Blues Drop Conference Match-Up Against Raritan Valley
Lincroft, NJ - The Jersey Blues women's volleyball team fell to the Lions of Raritan Valley Community College, 3-1 (25-23, 16-25, 14-25, 19-25).
Lincroft, NJ - The Jersey Blues women's volleyball team fell to the Lions of Raritan Valley Community College, 3-1 (25-23, 16-25, 14-25, 19-25).
After a strong and competitive first set, Raritan Valley elevated their game from the serve line and the Blues were unable to respond. Freshman middle hitter Carolyn Hazard scored 13 points, including six errorless kills, two aces and eight blocks. Sophomore outside hitter Katie O'Neill tallied 11 points on nine kills and two aces as well as scooping nine digs. Sophomore right side hitter Emily Schulte notched five kills and six blocks as sophomore setter Ciarah Minnig contributed 18 assists, one kill and one ace.
Sophomore setter Gabriela Pachamango added 11 assists, one kill and three aces. Sophomore libero Samarie Hernandez and sophomore defensive specialist Samira Hernandez totaled 19 and 12 digs respectively.
The team will next take on the Bulldogs of Bergen Community College and the Buccaneers of Atlantic Cape Community College in a tri-match on the road on Saturday, September 14th beginning at noon.
