Women's Tennis Lose 8-1; First Doubles Finish Runners-Up At Regions
West Windsor, NJ - Following two days of battling at the Mercer County Park courts, the Brookdale women's tennis team fell 8-1 to end their season as first doubles advanced to the finals of the Region 19 Tournament.
West Windsor, NJ - Following two days of battling at the Mercer County Park courts, the Brookdale women's tennis team fell 8-1 to end their season as first doubles advanced to the finals of the Region 19 Tournament.
In the early morning singles matches, freshman first singles, Gabby Dowlen, was topped 7-5, 6-0, sophomore, Melodie Werner, lost in second doubles 6-2, 7-5, third singles freshman, Gianna D'Angelo, fell 6-2, 6-0, fourth singles freshman, Isabel Kobilas, lost 6-2, 6-4, 5th singles sophomore, Kaitlin Thomson, was defeated, 6-1, 7-6, and freshman sixth singles, Hannah Reitmeyer, was downed, 6-1, 7-5.
Winning first doubles duo, Melodie Werner and Gabby Dowlen defeated their opponents with a final score of 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 in the semifinals to advance, but succumbed in the finals with a 6-2, 6-1 final score to finish in a respectable second place.
The Jersey Blues finished their season with an overall 2-5 record.
