Women's Tennis Grabs Third Place At Region XIX Tournament

Toms River, NJ- After three days of matches, the Brookdale women's tennis team grabbed third place at the Region XIX tournament with an accumulation of seven points. In doubles action, freshman second doubles Grace Meyer and Hailey Johnson finished in second place after defeating their opponents from RCGC and Northampton.

In singles action, freshman second singles Brianna McCarthy downed her RCGC opponent in the first round 6-4, 6-2 and Northampton in the second round 6-1, 6-0. McCarthy fell in the finals to Camden 6-1, 6-2.  Johnson made her way to the second round of third singles after topping her Northampton opponent in the first round 6-0, 6-1 while Meyer made it to the second round of fourth singles.

Fifth singles Lindsey Nelson and sixth singles Krysta Cieslik played in the second round of their respective matches.

The 2017 Brookdale women's tennis team finished out their season with a third place finish at the Region XIX tournament and an overall record of 6-4.
