Emily Clayton Receives The 2021 John Stauff Scholar-Athlete Award
Lincroft, NJ - Congratulations to Jersey Blues women's soccer defender, Emily Clayton (Wall High School), for being prized with the NJCAA Region XIX John Stauff Female Scholar-Athlete Award. The award is given to a female student-athlete annually.
Lincroft, NJ - Congratulations to Jersey Blues women's soccer defender, Emily Clayton (Wall High School), for being prized with the NJCAA Region XIX John Stauff Scholar-Athlete Award. The award is given to a female student-athlete annually.
For the altered spring 2020-2021 season due to Covid-19, Clayton started all six games, and had three goals with one being a game winner. Clayton was a superb student with a 3.98 GPA, and has been prized first team All-Conference, first team All-Region, GSAC Player of the Year, and named to the National All-Tournament Team after the Jersey Blues placed third in the NJCAA Championship. In addition, Clayton and her fellow teammates also partnered with Student Life and Activities and Clean Ocean Action for a beach sweep along the shore of Asbury Park.
Criteria/Qualifications:
*must participate in a NJCAA sanctioned sport in Region XIX
*must have achieved a minimum of a 3.5GPA and 36 credits (transcript required)
*minimum of All-Conference, All-Region and/or All-American recognition
*community service - e.g. club memberships, office held, assisting athletic or other college departments, etc.
