Golden Lions Get Caged By Jersey Blues Women
Lincroft, NJ - With an 8-1 win against the Golden Lions of Raritan Valley Community College, and a 7-0 conference record, the Brookdale women's soccer team are plowing through their season with success.
Brookdale came out of the huddle and scored immediately at the one minute mark as sophomore forward, Rebeckah Trumble, crossed the ball for freshman forward, Samantha Coleman, to take the shot and score. Eight minutes later, it was Coleman's turn to cross the ball to assist, sophomore forward, Jada Trotta, as she earned her 15th goal of the season. At 15:00 minutes on the clock, Trumble, sent a cross pass to sophomore midfielder, Kailie Benko, for a nice one-touch goal. For the fourth goal, Benko kept her hot foot as she assisted freshman defender, Hailey Kret, for her 30 yard power shot into the top left corner past the goalie.
At the 46:00 mark, freshman midfielder, Milena Alves, dribbled through two players to score from the 18 in an unassisted goal. Forward freshman, Anna Buchalski, followed up with her unassisted goal six minutes later. Buchalski trapped the ball from a goal kick, then nailed a bullet from 18 yards out. The seventh goal originated from freshman defender, Nora Stewart, and her play-through ball to freshman midfielder, Gabrielle Hueth, as she plunged the ball into the side of the net. The final goal of the game at the 70:00 minute mark was Samantha Coleman's second goal of the game, assisted by Jada Trotta. Trotta switched the field, Coleman adjusted, and took a wide-out shot past the keeper.
Brookdale (8-2) will travel to meet the Blue Colts of Middlesex County College on Tuesday, October 19th, @ 3:30pm, for their last regular season game.
