Lincroft, NJ - Sophomore defender Dayna Van Pelt has committed to Kean University for the 2020-2021 academic year.
The sophomore defender made her Jersey Blue appearance on the women's soccer team in the 2019 season. Prior to this, Van Pelt was at Stockton University and played one season for the Ospreys. As a Jersey Blue, Van Pelt instantly made a name for herself on the field and earned second team All-Region and All-Garden State Athletic Conference honors. She totalled three goals on the season, with one being the game winner.
Dayna's favorite memory as a Jersey Blue was the trip to the NJCAA national tournament in New York. "I had so much fun bonding with my teammates and getting to experience a national tournament in the snow!"
"I could not be happier with my experience at Brookdale. I got to make forever friendships through playing sports and play competitively while still being able to manage going to school. Brookdale is a great place to go if you are struggling with what you want to do with your future, which I did. It got me ready to move on to a four-year, which again, I don't think I was ready for right out of high school," she said.
Dayna will continue playing soccer for the Kean Cougars this upcoming fall.
Kean University is a NCAA Division III four-year institution located in Union, NJ.
