Dryden, NY - The number five seeded Brookdale women's soccer team left the number four seeded Herkimer Generals unresponsive in the first round of the NJCAA National Tournament with a 3-0 final score.
The Jersey Blues won in true team fashion by playing through the elements, finding feet, and communicating well. The Blues played tremendous defense, dominating their end of the field for the entire game and never losing their marks.
Sophomore forward, Jenna Karabin kicked the scoring off with a rocket to the back of the net early in the fourth minute of play. Freshman midfielder Alexa Hansen continued the momentum forward knocking in the second goal with 27 minutes left in the first half. To complete the shut out, freshman forward Jada Trotta fired the final shot as she did a spin move on her defender and ripped a left-footed shot to the lower corner.
Brookdale advances to the semi-finals on Friday, November 15th, at 3:30pm against the number one seeded Brookhaven Bears.
