Lincroft, NJ – The Jersey Blues women's soccer team earned a 7-0 victory against Middlesex County College in their home opener on Thursday afternoon.
It has been quite the start to the collegiate career for freshman forward Lauren Karabin. After scoring two of the three goals in the Jersey Blues opening game on Tuesday, Karabin shined again in Brookdale's home opener, scoring a hat trick in the opening half. She now has five goals in two games.
Her sister, freshman forward Jenna Karabin, also scored a pair of goals in the first half and one in the second. The duo arrive in Lincroft after starring at Wall High School. Freshman midfielder Haley Dalonzo scored the final goal for the Jersey Blues late in the second half. It was her second career goal as she also scored in the season opener.
Sophomore goaltender Mya Schaumloffel recorded eight saves in the shutout.
Brookdale begins the season with a 2-0 record and looks to keep the momentum going when they host Camden County College on Saturday, September 8th for a noon kickoff.
