Toms River, NJ- The Brookdale women's soccer team fell against the Kats of Erie Community College, 3-2 in the quarter-finals of the NJCAA Division III national tournament.
The Kats scored two quick goals early in the first half and the Jersey Blues rallied to tie up the game 2-2 before halftime. Sophomore forward Amanda Karabin ripped the first goal after receiving the ball from sophomore midfielder Endila Radoncic. Sophomore forward Heather Arbachesky tied up the game, tallying the second goal. Sophomore midfielder Melissa Monteleone collected the assist.
The defense played a tough match, led by sophomore Michelle Montefinese. Freshman defender Amy Beringer and sophomore defenders Kaitlin Koterba and Colleen Branagan held strong in the back.
The team returns to action on Friday, November 11th at 10:00am to face the Lions of Nassau Community College on the grass field at Ocean County College.
