Showing no signs of rust after a two week Christmas break, Brookdale (11-2,8-0) won their eleventh game in a row after starting the season 0-2.
The ninth ranked Blues had four players score in double figures led by 6-foot-3 inch sophomore center Samantha Carlson's (Manalapan H.S.) double-double. Carlson scored 14 points, including eight first half points, and grabbed a team high 17 rebounds, including eight offensive boards. In an awesome display of all-around play, she also contributed six steals and five blocked shots.
Brookdale led by five, 37-32, at the half but kept the lead at ten points or above most of the second half.
Freshman forward/center Marya Trapp (Red Bank Regional) dropped in 14 points to tie Carlson for top scorer and hauled in eight rebounds, including three offensive boards.
Sophomore shooting guard Marina Lukianov (Howell H.S.) added 12 points, five boards, four assists and a blocked shot.
