Softball Expires The Monroe Express In Double Wins; Lowe Slugs 3 Homers
New Rochelle, NY - The Monroe University softball team had a long day not only battling daylight, but the Brookdale Jersey Blues who crushed the Express in two games, 23-1, 18-3.

New Rochelle, NY - The Monroe University softball team had a long day not only battling daylight, but the Brookdale Jersey Blues who crushed the Express in two games, 23-1, 18-3.
Freshman pitcher Jules Hart faced 22 batters and threw seven strikeouts in five innings of game-one. Sophomore first baseman, Audra Lowe, went 3-for-3 with her first homer on the day for four RBI's and freshman third baseman, Jadeyn Pavlik, provided three RBI's off her triple. Freshman left fielder, Carmela Esposito, crushed a two-run homer and sophomore shortstop, Jillian Fay, freshman second baseman, Mya Bonilla, and freshman outfielder, Jaylen Campbell, all knocked in two RBI's a piece for the 23-1 win.
Game-two spotlighted Audra Lowe's two home runs in her 4-for-4 at bats for seven RBI's; that's 7-for-7 on the day and 11 RBI's. Shortstop Jillian Fay brought home two RBI's from her double and sophomore left fielder, Sara Nazzaro, attached another two RBI's from her 1-for-2 at the plate. Freshman, Jadeyn Pavlik, shut down the Express in five innings with five strikeouts.
Brookdale is currently 9-1 and will be on the road this weekend to face the Northampton Community College Spartans on Saturday, March 15th, beginning at 12:00pm.
