Edison, NJ - The Jersey Blues finished their regular season with a key game split against Region 19 standings leader, Middlesex College with scores of 8-2, 10-2.
Brookdale had plenty of opportunities to score in the 8-2 loss, but the two RBI hits came from sophomores, Mallory Shevlin, and Brittany Campbell. Freshman center fielder, Jillian Fay, did a great job at bat with a double and a triple to try and spark the Blues.
The vibe changed in game-two as the Jersey went on a tear in the 6th inning with six explosive runs. Jillian Fay continued her hot streak, batting 4-for-4 with a double for three RBI's. Shortstop, Brittany Campbell, was on as well, hitting 3-for-4 with a triple for three RBI's, and freshman catcher Jessica Fay added another two RBI's from her 2-for-4 at bats. Mallory Shevlin (14-8) kept the Blue Colts at bay in her 5.0 innings as she struck out six and walked just two batters.
Brookdale finished their regular season at 16-15, 12-4 in the Region and 9-3 in the GSAC. They are awaiting their seeding for the Region 19 Tournament.
