Brookdale Softball Sweeps The Camden Cougars

Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale Jersey Blues had a sweet conference sweep over the Camden County College Cougars, 6-0, 15-2, to improve their records to 13-14 overall, 10-2 in Region 19, and 8-2 in the GSAC.

Sophomore Mallory Shevlin threw for all seven innings in game-one, allowing for three hits and 11 strikeouts to put her at the top of the Region 19 list for strikeouts with 153. On the batting end, Shevlin went 2-for-3 with a triple for two RBI's to help lead Brookdale. Freshman first baseman, Audra Lowe, added on two RBI's with her 3-for-4 chances at the plate, including a double, and freshman catcher, Jessica Fay, knocked in an RBI double.

It was Audra Lowe in game-two pulling in five big RBI's for the Blues win as she pounded two doubles in her 4-for-4 at bats. Shevlin came through for an additional three RBI's with a double in her 3-for-3 at bats, and Jessica Fay contributed two RBI's as well in her 2-for-4 batting opportunities.

Shevlin earned the win in the circle for the Blues, and freshman Jillian Fay grabbed the save in 3.0 innings.

The Jersey Blues will head to Bethlehem, PA, to battle the Northampton Community College Spartans on Sunday, April 28th, at 12:00pm.
