Softball Stumbles In Doubleheader Home Losses To Mercer
Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale softball team played their second doubleheader of the season versus the DII Mercer County Community College Vikings. The first game ended 22-0 and the second game ended 15-2, both in favor of the Vikings. The Jersey Blues move to 12-13 on the season and 8-2 in Region 19 play.

Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale softball team played their second doubleheader and fourth loss of the season versus the DII Mercer County Community College Vikings. The first game ended 22-0 and the second game ended 15-2, both in favor of the Vikings. The Jersey Blues move to 12-13 on the season and 8-2 in Region 19 play.
The Blues struggled offensively and were unable to get on the board in their first game of the day. The Blues had zero runs on four hits compared to 20 hits from the Vikings. Sophomore left fielder, Mallory Shevlin batted 2-for-2, as freshman right fielder, Audra Lowe, and freshman catcher, Abbey Ford, each posted singles.
Brookdale was able to get on the board and produce six hits to Mercer's nine in the second game. First baseman, Audra Lowe, had the only RBI, as other crucial hits came from freshman shortstop, Jillian Fay with a triple, and catcher, Abbey Ford, batted 2-for-2.
Brookdale will host the Cougars of Camden County College next on Saturday, April 27th, beginning at 12:00pm.
