Brookdale Conquers The Lehigh Carbon Cougars, 8-0, 10-0

Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale Community College softball crew surpassed the 500 mark after conquering the Lehigh Carbon Community College Cougars in Region 19 play with scores of 8-0, 10-0. The Blues are at the top of their region with a 5-0 record, 6-5 overall.

Sophomore pitcher, Mallory Shevlin, threw for all five scoreless innings in game-one with 12 twelve strikeouts, then pounded a triple, and a double for two RBI's. Freshman center fielder, Jillian Fay, connected for three hits, a homer, and a double for two RBI's, and sophomore second baseman, Abby Kisseberth, batted 2-for-2 for an RBI.

In game-two Mallory Shevlin added another win to her pitching record as she struck out four, allowing zero runs in five innings. Shevlin also added another triple and a double on the day in her 3-for-3 at bats for three RBI's. Freshman first baseman, Audra Lowe, blasted two cannon triples and a double for two RBI's, and sophomore shortstop, Brittany Campbell, attached an RBI from her 1-for-3 chances at the plate.

The Jersey Blues (6-5) will host the CCBC Catonsville Cardinals on Wednesday, April 10th, beginning at 3:00pm.
