Brookdale Splits With DII Chesapeake College

Wye Mills, MD - Brookdale softball split with the DII Skipjacks of Chesapeake College, 9-6, and 15-8, in an out of conference match-up over the weekend.
Sophomore pitcher, Mallory Shevlin, earned her 4th win in 7.0 innings and nine strikeouts in the first game of the double-header. Freshman center fielder, Jillian Fay, ripped a double and produced three RBI's, and freshman right fielder, Abbey Ford added three RBI's from her 1-for-3 at bats. Shevlin wrenched a homer and a double from her 3-for-4 trips to the plate for two RBI's.
The Blues had a tougher time in game-two, falling behind in the first two innings, 9-1. Battling at the plate was freshman left fielder, Sara Nazzaro, who was 1-for-2 with a home run, and freshman first baseman, Audra Lowe, who also blasted a homer from her 1-for-3 chances. Mallory Shevlin added another double on the day for an RBI.
The 4-5 Jersey Blues will host the Lehigh Carbon Community College Cougars on Tuesday, April 9th, beginning at 3:30pm.
