New Brookdale Softball Coaching Staff Takes The Field
Lincroft, NJ - A new Brookdale softball coaching staff has taken the field and they are ready for the 2024 season! The coaching stafff was hired in October of 2023 and have been up and running ever since. Head Coach Tony Pacillo brought aboard two additional assistants, Antonia Pacillo, who is in her second year coaching the Jersey Blues, and Paul Garelick.

Head Coach, Anthony Pacillo, brought aboard two additional assistants, Antonia Pacillo, who is in her second year coaching the Jersey Blues, and Paul Garelick.
Anthony Pacillo was named the new Head Softball Coach in October of 2023. A native of Bayonne, NJ, Anthony comes to Brookdale after a successful career in law enforcement. Anthony's passion for the game of baseball parlayed into his passion for softball after coaching his daughter Antonia at an early age.
For the past 11 years Anthony has coached at the highest levels of club/travel softball, which included multiple age groups. Several of Anthony's former players went on to successful academic and athletic collegiate careers. Anthony is known for his energetic style of coaching, as well as his devotion to his student-athlete's goals, both on the field, and in the classroom. Anthony currently resides in Cliffwood, NJ with his daughter, Brookdale assistant softball coach Antonia Pacillo.
"It is an honor and a privilege for me to follow in the footsteps of Coach Scannapieco, a softball coaching legend, and a pillar of the Brookdale community. I appreciate the opportunity to assist our student athletes in advancing their academic and athletic careers. It is my intent to utilize all the tools at my disposal to maintain the same winning tradition, and positive mindset, that our student athletes, and the Brookdale community are accustomed to".
Coach Antonia Pacillo is in her second year as an assistant coach for the Jersey Blues. Pacillo had a very successful career as a three-year varsity player at Saint John Vianney High School, earning four Monmouth County Tournament Championships, One Shore Conference Tournament Championship, and One State Championship.
Pacillo continued her softball career at Misericordia University as a four-year starting utility player where she was honored as MAC Player of the Week.
In addition to her time spent on Brookdale's softball field, Coach Antonia is a professional trainer at the Jersey Dugout in nearby Marlboro, NJ.
Coach Antonia is currently a graduate student at Monmouth University for counseling and resides in Cliffwood Beach, NJ.
Coach Paul Garelick is serving in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach. He has worked his way through the travel softball circuit the past few decades coaching more than a thousand travel games.
He has had the privilege of coaching dozens of young ladies who have gone on to play DI, DII, and DIII college softball. Coach Paul seeks to play an aggressive and enthusiastic brand of softball. Energy, speed, and a passion for the game of softball are what he seeks and preaches to his players. Coach Paul also preaches to his players the importance of their education for life after softball.
Coach Paul is a partner of his law firm where he has worked as a trial attorney for the last 30 years.
