Lackawanna Falcons Get Trapped By The Jersey Blues For A Pair Of Wins
Scranton, PA - Coming off of two crucial wins against the Northampton Community College Spartans, the Jersey Blues continued their momentum and trapped two more wins by defeating the DII Lackawanna College Falcons. The Blues defeated the Falcons, 8-1 and 10-8, for a current overall record of 23-7, 11-1 in Region 19.

Scranton, PA - Coming off of two crucial wins against the Northampton Community College Spartans, the Jersey Blues continued their momentum and trapped two more wins by defeating the DII Lackawanna College Falcons. The Blues defeated the Falcons, 8-1 and 10-8, for a current overall record of 23-7, 11-1 in Region 19.
In the first game, sophomore GSAC Player of the Week, Gianna Praet, threw a 3-hitter with 12 strikeouts. On the offensive side, Praet also blasted two triples and drove in three runs. Sophomore right fielder, Ana Marziano, posted 2-for-2 at bats, scoring three runs and two RBI's, and sophomore shortstop, Nicolette Pavlik, hammered 2-for-3 hits for two RBI's.
In game two, the Jersey Blues were trailing, 8-3, after three innings despite a two-run homer off the bat of sophomore third baseman, Zoey Hagan. The Blues rallied to tie the game in the 6th inning on an RBI double by Nicolette Pavlik. Brookdale followed up with two more runs in the 7th inning with an RBI triple from sophomore center fielder, Alyssa Sigler, and an RBI single from Gianna Praet. Sigler, Praet, and sophomore left fielder, Madison Parrish, each had three pivotal hits for the win. Freshman, Mallory Shevlin, was hailed the winning pitcher for her 12 strikeouts and only 2 earned runs from the pitching lane.
Brookdale looks to continue the momentum as they prepare for their home game against the Bergen Community College Bulldogs on Tuesday, April 25th, at 3:30pm.
