Lincroft, NJ - Brookdale softball came, saw, and destroyed the #1 Region 19 ranked Sussex County Community Skylanders, each in five innings, with finals of 8-0, and 10-2.
In the 8-0, five-inning game win, sophomore catcher, Zoey Hagan, went 2-for-3 including a double and a single for three RBI's. Sophomore third baseman, Nicolette Pavlik, struck for an RBI double, and sophomore left fielder, Madison Parrish hit 2-for-2 with a triple-single for a run scored. Freshman winning pitcher, Mallory Shevlin, threw a two-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts to secure her 8th win.
Brookdale used the long ball in game two as third baseman, Zoey Hagan, shot a two-run homer in the first inning, followed up by an RBI single from shortstop, Nicolette Pavlik, who later pounded a three-run homer in the fourth inning. Freshman catcher, Sydney Rawlings, went 3-for-3 including an inside the park homerun in the fourth. Sophomore pitcher, Gianna Praet (8-2), brought the flame thrower to achieve no earned runs, and eight strikeouts in the win.
The Blues (16-4) host the DI Monroe College Mustangs next on, Sunday, April 16th, starting at 1:00pm.
