Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale Jersey Blues softball team split their double-header with the DII, #1 Region 19 ranked, Delaware Technical Community College - Owens, snapping their 22 game winning streak.
Del Tech took the first game in five innings, 13-2, despite the tough efforts from freshman third baseman, Zoey Hagan, who drove in both runs with her RBI single in the 1st inning, then her solo homer in the 4th (her 5th total).
The 7-1 win for the Blues in the 2 second game brought big bats. Freshman first baseman, Adriana Noterile, sparked the Blues in the 4th inning with a two-run double, then freshman pitcher, Gianna Praet, followed up with a two-run single in the 6th inning. Zoey Hagan batted big again with two doubles for an RBI, and freshman center fielder, Amaya Marrero, posted two singles for an added RBI. Freshman winning pitcher, Charlotte Piper, boosted her record to 4-0 with her four strikeouts and one earned run.
The 20-8, #1 Region 19 ranked Jersey Blues, will make a short trip to battle the #2 ranked, Middlesex College Blue Colts, on Tuesday, April 26th, at 3:30pm.
