Lincroft, NJ - After just 10 days of traveling to Lackawanna College for a split double header, the Jersey Blues split with the DII Falcons once again. The Blues won 10-2 in just five innings, then lost the second, 12-4, in six innings.
Brookdale got off to a quick and powerful lead that was deemed too much for the Falcons in the 10-2 game-one win. Freshman Gianna Praet, was a pitching stud with nine strikeouts and no earned runs for her 10th win on the year. Freshman shortstop, Nicolette Pavlik, blasted a three-run homer, her fifth to date, to fire up the Blues in the first inning. Praet added a two-run single and freshman catcher, Alyssa Sigler, each had clutch hits as well for two RBI's.
Game two ran a bit different as the Falcons dominated the bats with their 14 hits in the 12-4 loss. On the Brookdale side, center fielder, Alyssa Sigler, came through again with her solo homer, her 6th this year. Helping in the Falcon fight, was freshman right fielder, Amaya Marrero, and third baseman, Nicolette Pavlik, who both had two hits a piece.
Brookdale (19-7), now 7th in the nation, will host another DII team, Delaware Technical Community College, on Sunday, April 24th, at 12:00pm.
