Sewell, NJ - The Brookdale women's softball team battled the RCSJ - Gloucester Roadrunners on the field as hard as they battled the daylight to get the game in with a 12-7, 5-0 split.
The Blues took a hard loss in game one as freshman pitcher, Gianna Praet, and freshman shortstop, Nicolette Pavlik, each had a double and two RBI's a piece. Freshman third baseman, Zoey Hagan, freshman center fielder, Amaya Marrero, and freshman right fielder, Charlotte Piper, each produced the remaining three RBI's.
Game two got a bit more interesting as the teams battled the daylight to squeeze in the necessary five innings. Charlotte Piper and freshman second baseman, Julia Canal, each supplied sac flies as Piper added a sac bunt as well for two of the RBI's. Freshman infielder, Madison Parrish, offered up a base hit for an RBI, and freshman Adriana Noterile (5-3) pitched the game in its entirety for the 5-0 win.
The Jersey Blues head Northwest to Newton, NJ, to challenge the Sussex County Community College Skylanders on Saturday, April 16th, beginning at 12:00pm.
