Softball Claims Third Place At Nationals; Pszeniczny And Moore Make All-Tournament Team
Rochester, MN - The Jersey Blues claimed third place at the NJCAA Division III softball national tournament after defeating Dakota College at Bottineau, 5-1, Lehigh Carbon Community College, 12-3, Onondaga Community College, 9-4 and falling to Herkimer College, 9-5 and Rock Valley College, 4-2.

In their last match-up against Rock Valley College, freshman third baseman Shakyra Moore went 2-4 and ripped a solo home run, her 25th of the year. Freshman shortstop Alyssa Vetrano notched one RBI after she was hit by a pitch with bases loaded. Sophomore shortstop Alyssa Raimondo posted one single and one scored run.
Sophomore right-handed pitcher Jessica Pszeniczny and freshman third baseman Shakyra Moore made the All-Tournament team for their performance at nationals.
The team finishes out the 2019 season with an overall record of 45-11, an undefeated conference record of 12-0 and a Region XIX record of 17-1. The Blues also tallied a Garden State Athletic Conference title and Region XIX District E title.
