Softball Celebrates Sophomores; Brookdale Sweeps DII Lackawanna College
Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale softball team celebrated seven sophomores during the doubleheader against Lackawanna College; shortstop Alyssa Raimondo, outfielder Hallie Barone, second baseman Elizabeth Dorsa, outfielder Tori Lucarelli, outfielder Carley Layton, right-handed pitcher Jessica Pszeniczny and first basemen Mackenzie Thomas.

In game one, the Jersey Blues topped the Falcons, 3-1. Freshman Shakyra Moore posted an RBI single as sophomore outfielder Tori Lucarelli and sophomore second baseman Elizabeth Dorsa contributed RBI groundouts. Sophomore Jessica Pszeniczny tossed the seven-inning contest and struck out six batters.
The Blues took game two, 7-5 with a sixth-inning three-run spark highlighted by an RBI double from Moore and an RBI groundout from freshman shortstop Alyssa Vetrano. Lucarelli went 3-4 and knocked in two runs as Pszeniczny notched her 17th win in relief.
With the win, the team improves to 32-9 and will next face Montgomery County Community College on the road on Tuesday, April 30th at 3:30pm.
