Blackwood, NJ- The Brookdale softball team split with the Cougars of Camden County College in conference play.
The Jersey Blues took game one in five innings, 12-1. Sophomore center-fielder Taylor Mennie and sophomore shortstop Nikki Alfano posted two-run singles as freshman first baseman Bridget Coulahan and sophomore outfielder Megan Mego recorded RBI doubles in the top of the fourth to highlight a 10-run inning.
In game two, Brookdale fell, 12-4. Coulahan continued to produce in the batters box and notched another two hits.
The teams record stands at 33-10-1. The Blues will return to action in the first round of the Region XIX tournament at home on Wednesday, May 3rd against the Blue Colts of Middlesex County College for the best of three series beginning at 3:00pm.
