Softball Honors Sophomore Class; Brookdale Splits With Delaware Technical Community College
Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale softball team celebrated seven sophomores during the doubleheader against Delaware Technical Community College; third baseman and pitcher Danelle Lewis, catcher Olivia Carbone, pitcher Lauren Coppinger, center-fielder Taylor Mennie, outfielder Jillisa Curry, shortstop Nikki Alfano and outfielder Megan Mego.

In game one, the Jersey Blues were topped by the Roadrunners, 11-4. Freshman second baseman Paige Eckert posted a three-run homer while freshman first baseman Veronica Woehr added a solo home-run.
Brookdale topped Del-Tech in game two, 10-3. Sophomore center-fielder Taylor Mennie tallied a two-run home-run, RBI triple, RBI double and knocked in four runs. Sophomore shortstop Nikki Alfano collected one triple as sophomore third baseman Danelle Lewis contributed two RBI singles.
Freshman Rachel Hrevnak pitched the four hitter and two earned run game. The team will next take on Region XIX and conference rival Ocean County College at home on Tuesday, April 25th beginning at 3:00pm.
