Softball Honors Sophomore Class; Brookdale Tops Anne Arundel Community College

Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale softball team celebrated the nine sophomores during today's doubleheader against Anne Arundel Community College. Pitcher Victoria Vogt, third baseman Jacquie Coulahan, outfielders Taylor Sheridan, Andi Mauro and Amanda Pringle, catchers Alexandria Montefinese and Victoria Mettlen, second baseman Cassie Varvaro and third baseman Briana Calabrese will be moving on after this year.

The athletic department and coaching staff wishes all of you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

In game one of the doubleheader, the Blues downed the Pioneers of Anne Arundel CC, 4-1. Sophomore outfielder Taylor Sheridan ripped a two-run triple while sophomore center-fielder Amanda Pringle crushed an RBI double. 

From the mound, sophomore pitcher Victoria Vogt earned the win.

In game two, Brookdale defeated Anne Arundel, 8-7 in a close match-up. Freshman catcher Olivia Carbone posted a three-run homer which proved to be the game winning hit.

Sheridan's bat stayed hot as she smashed a three-run homer. Freshman utility Megan Mego added a two-run single. Vogt collected her second win of the day, entering the game in relief.

The Blues improve their overall record to, 29-11 and will face Monroe College at home on Tuesday, April 26th.
