Softball Rallies Back To Sweep RCGC In Doubleheader; Coppinger Earns Two Wins From The Mound
Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale softball team swept the Roadrunners of Rowan College at Gloucester County, 4-0 and 9-5. In game one, freshman first baseman Bethany Evans led the way with a two-run homer, her sixth of the season. Freshman right-handed pitcher Lauren Coppinger spun for the two-hit shutout.

Freshman utilitiy Megan Mego went 4-4 from the plate.
In game two, the Jersey Blues were down by five and took the lead in the fifth inning after going on a seven run rally headed by a three-run homer from Evans. Freshman shortstop Danelle Lewis, sophomore second baseman Cassie Varvaro and freshman outfielder Taylor Mennie each posted an RBI single.
Coppinger returned to the mound in relief in the fourth inning with two outs and earned her 13th win of the season. Coppinger gave up only one run.
The team improves their overall record to 27-11 and will face Anne Arundel Community College at home on Sunday, April 24th for two games.
