Taylor Mennie Rips Two Home Runs; Softball Sweeps Rappahannock Community College In Season Opener
Saluda, VA- The Brookdale softball team swept the Gulls of Rappahannock Community College, 10-0 and 10-1. In game one, sophomore pitcher Victoria Vogt threw for the win, allowing only one hit. Freshman first baseman Bethany Evans smashed a two-run homer while freshman left fielder Taylor Mennie ripped her first solo home run of the season. Freshman utility Megan Mego tallied a two-run double in the game.

In game two, Mennie went 3-3 from the plate, knocking out a two-run homer. Sophomore second baseman Taylor Sheridan posted two doubles and two RBI's and freshman pitcher Lauren Coppinger tossed for the win.
The Jersey Blues start off the season with a 2-0 record and will face St. Louis Community College in Myrtle Beach, SC on Sunday, March 13th for a doubleheader.
