Dobbs Ferry, NY- The Jersey Blues softball team split with the Mavericks JV squad of Mercy College. In game one, Brookdale fell to Mercy, 7-6. Freshman pitcher Victoria Vogt struck out two batters and allowed 11 scattered hits.

Dobbs Ferry, NY- The Jersey Blues softball team split with the Mavericks JV squad of Mercy College. In game one, Brookdale fell to Mercy, 7-6. Freshman pitcher Victoria Vogt struck out two batters and allowed 11 scattered hits.
Freshman shortstop Cassie Varvaro tallied one double, one RBI and one sac-fly while sophomore pitcher Courtney Semkewyc recorded two hits and two RBI's.
In game two, sophomore pitcher Kaitlyn Kretzmer threw the seven inning, 14-6 victory over the Mavericks, striking out eight batters.
At bat, sophomore outfielder Sara Vocisano and freshman outfielder Amanda Pringle collected two hits and drove in three RBI's apiece. Sophomore first baseman Caroline Abin also knocked in three runs for Brookdale.
The team returns to action at home on Sunday, April 26th against the JV team of Mercy College. The Jersey Blues will also be hosting sophomore day, celebrating the sophomore student-athletes on the team.
