Myrtle Beach, SC- The Brookdale softball team blanked the Lakers of Finger Lakes Community College, 8-0. Sophomore pitcher Courtney Semkewyc threw a two-hit shutout, earning her third win of the season.
Sophomore outfielder Sara Vocisano smacked an RBI triple while sophomore first baseman Caroline Abin smashed a two-run double. Freshman shortstop Cassie Varvaro went 3-3 from the plate and freshman Taylor Sheridan collected two hits and two stolen bases.
In game two, the Blues faced the Generals of Herkimer College and lost, 7-0. Brookdale had a tough first inning and could not rally back.
The team returns to the diamond on Wednesday, March 18th against Lackawanna College and Rochester Community and Technical College.
