Softball Downs Anne Arundel In First Round Of National Tournament
Rochester, MN- After a brief rain delay, the Brookdale softball team took an early lead against the Pioneers of Anne Arundel Community College. The Blues downed the Pioneers, 4-0 in the first round of the NJCAA Division III Women's Softball National Championship Tournament. Sophomore pitcher Krystal Pearson threw for the win, striking out 11 batters and giving up only 1 hit.

The Blues downed the Pioneers, 4-0 in the first round of the NJCAA Division III Women's Softball National Championship Tournament. Sophomore pitcher Krystal Pearson threw for the win, striking out 11 batters and giving up only 1 hit. At bat, Pearson tallied an RBI ground-out and a sac-fly to right field.
Sophomore third baseman Erin Lockwood and freshman first baseman Alexandra Clayton each contributed an RBI single for the Blues.
The team will face Monroe Community College at 2:30pm today.
