Philadelphia, PA - The Belmont Plateau running course in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park is a laborious one, but the Brookdale men's cross country squad welcomed the challenge and handled it well.
Freshman, Andrew Lorig (Matawan Regional High School), led the Blues by placing 24th in the 8K with a 32:30 finish. Freshamn, Gavin Tay (Matawan Regional High School) was next at 33:11, and coming in 3rd was freshman, Harmon Hass (Saint John Vianney High School), placing 50th for 36:14. Hass was followed by freshman, Jeremy Villagra-Castro (Manasquan High School), who finished with a time of 36:35 for 53rd place. Sophomore captain, Aiden Casucci (Freehold Boro High School), wrapped up the top five at 55th place and 36:45 time. Amazingly, Casucci improved his time from alast year's race by 3.5 minutes!
Following Casucci was sophomore captain, Jack Kratka (Middletown South High School) at the 60th spot, followed closely by, freshman, Scott Hurst (Howell High School), at 62nd. Next was sophomore captain, Lance Bennette (Brick Township High School), freshman Diego Alva (Dumont High School) at 65th, freshman Fredson Rodriguez-Segovia (Long Branch High School), at 68th, and freshman, Carmine Isaac (Freehold Township High School) finishing 74th.
The men's cross country team will be heading to Stockton University as they host the annual Osprey Open next Saturday, September 14th, at 11:15am.
