Men's Cross Country Accomplishes Personal Bests At The NJIT Invitational
Newark, NJ - The men's cross country team was back in action this week after having the last two weekends off without a meet due to the cancellation of the Jersey Blues Invitational. Despite the time off, most of the team accomplished personal bests in this weeks NJIT Inviational race.

Newark, NJ - The men's cross country team was back in action this week after having the last two weekends off without a meet due to the cancelation of the Jersey Blues Invitational. Despite the time off, most of the team accomplished personal bests in this weeks NJIT Inviational race.
The men got drenched by a heavy downfall of rain, but that did not stop them. The team was led by a trio of sophomore captains. Leading the team once again was Casey Brown (Point Boro High School) who placed 56th out of over 200 runners, with a personal record of 28:09. This was the fastest junior college time of the day, and Casey continues to be one of the fastest runners in Region 19. Matt Newman (Rumson-Fair Haven High School) was next across the line with a personal best of 31:10. Newman was followed by Jay Morris, (Monmouth Regional High School) with a time of 32:10, a season best.
First year sophomore Isaias Usurin (Long Branch High School) ran a personal best record of 32:27. Freshmen Aiden Casucci (Freehold Boro High School) came across the line next, running a time of 33:58, a personal best as well. Freshman Jack Kratka (Middletown South High School) ran a personal best time of 34:10. Lance Bennette, a freshman from Brick High School was next across the line with a time of 34:15 which was a personal best time too. Rounding out the team was sophomore captain Joshua Cabral (Middletown North High School), who ran a time of 47:15. Brookdale was the top Region 19 team to place in the meet besides fellow Region 19 teams Bergen, Union and Ocean County College.
Men's cross country will see the trails again on Saturday, October 14th, at the St. Joseph Invitational held at Sunken Meadow State Park, Long Island, NY, beginning at 12:00pm.
