Men's Tennis Captures GSAC Title With Win Over Rowan College At Gloucester County
Lincroft, NJ- The Jersey Blues men's tennis team clinched the Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) title. Brookdale defeated the Roadrunners of Rowan College at Gloucester County, 7-2.
Lincroft, NJ- The Jersey Blues men's tennis team clinched the Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) title. Brookdale defeated the Roadrunners of Rowan College at Gloucester County, 7-2.
In doubles action, the Blues swept all three matches, 8-3, 8-3 and 8-4. Brookdale went on to grab victories in four of the six singles matches with freshman second singles Safie Moamen edging his opponent, 6-3, 6-3.
Sophomore Emir Hamzic and sophomore Jacob Evans defeated their third and fourth singles opponents, 6-2, 6-2 and 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 respectively. Freshman John Kelly Thompson registered the Blues final win of the match at fifth singles.
With the win over RCGC, the Brookdale men's tennis team went undefeated in the regular season with an overall record of 9-0. The team returns to action in the Region XIX tournament on Friday, May 6th, Saturday, May 7th and Sunday, May 8th at Mercer County Community College.
