Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale men's soccer team lost a tough, hot and humid, season opener to the DII Howard Community College Dragons, 4-2.
The Howard Dragons cranked the first two goals 25 minutes into the 1st half, until Brookdale came through with their 1st goal just before the half. Sophomore midfielder, James Schutz (Ocean Township High School), scored his first unassisted goal of the season to put the Blues on the board.
The Dragons scored another two goals in the 2nd half before the Blues were able to answer with only five minutes to spare in the game. Freshman midfielder, William LaBruno (Shore Regional High School), fed sophomore midfielder, Augusto Bomtempo (Long Branch High School), to make the final score 4-2. Bomtempo had two shots on goal for the day.
The Blues will face the Georgian Court University JV Lions squad on Thursday, September 8th, 3:30pm in Lakewood, NJ.
