Randolph, NJ - Brookdale men's soccer suffered another defeat against the Titans, losing 3-1, at the Community College of Morris. The Blues got off to a slow start, giving up a goal in the first five minutes of the match. The Blues responded by controlling the rest of the period and getting to the break all even.
Following an attack from his midfield role, first year forward, Mubashshir Atcha, punched home a rebound from a fellow forward, Ryan Gannon, blast. The Blues continued to play well on the rain-soaked field, but Morris was awarded a questionable penalty kick halfway through the second half to go up 2-1. Brookdale continued the battle and pressured the Morris defense, but could not find the back of the net. Brookdale gave up a third goal in the final minutes of the half.
"The boys are playing well, and in the past two games and has had the lead against strong opponents. This year has been a learning year for the group. Region 19 is the strongest Region in the country and playing with 11 and at times 10 players is extremely difficult." stated Head Coach, Tom Rafferty. He added, "This Spring has been a growing season. The rewards will be noted during the 2021 Fall campaign."
Brookdale plays their final game of the Spring on Thursday, May 13th, at Capelli Sports Complex against the Sussex County College Skylanders. Kickoff time is scheduled for 2:30pm.
